Advocacy Toolbox

"How terrible it will be for those who make unfair laws, and those who write laws that make life hard for people.  They are not fair to the poor and they rob my people of their rights.  They allow people to steal from widows and take from orphans what really belongs to them."
Isaiah 10:1-2

Next Steps - More Advocacy Tools

Writing Letters to the Editor
One of the most effective ways to get involved and make your voice heard in your community is writing a Letter to the Editor of your local paper. A general rule is that letters are 200-400 words or less.

Below are links to 11 of the largest newspapers in Montana, but newspapers tend to favor letters from within their distribution areas. If there is a local paper in your community, look up their contact information and submit a letter to them as well.
Billings Gazette
Missoulian
Helena Independent Record
Great Falls Tribune
Bozeman Daily Chronicle
Flathead Beacon
Montana Standard
Daily Interlake
Havre Daily News
Ravalli Republic
Livingston Enterprise
